5 Things to Know About Your Wedding Photography

Check out these 5 great tips that every Bride should know about their wedding day photography:

  • Book Early!: In most cases, select your photographer 6 months before the wedding. If you are planning on tying the knot during peak wedding season (May, June, September, and October), consider booking 9 months in advance to secure your top pick.
  • Get Referrals: Ask friends, family, and of course – your wedding coordinator! Our wedding coordinators at The Castle work with many vendors and can help you to find the photographer that fits your needs.
  • Personality Matters: You don’t have to be best friends with your photographer, but you should feel comfortable and at ease with them. After all, it is your special day!
  • Don’t Settle for One Style: You don’t have to pick between traditional photography and a more photojournalistic style of photography – you can have them both! Be open with your selected photographer from the beginning so they know exactly what you are expecting on the day of your wedding.
  • Get it in Writing: Make sure your contract includes prices, the name of your photographer, hours of coverage, number of prints, and the type of albums. While it would be fun to have you special day all over again, you just can’t recreate those exact memories if your photographer doesn’t cut it on your day.

For exceptional photography, consider booking with The Castle Photography for your wedding day memories. For more info click here or call The Castle at 801.773.5262.

Let The Castle & Michael Lucarelli Transform Your Special Day!

We are so excited to kick off 2010 with a bang here at The Castle! But before we forget about all of the fun and excitement of 2009 we wanted to share an amazing wedding day vendor with you.

Our last wedding of 2009 was beautiful – Monique & Steve were such an amazing and gracious couple to work with. It was so romantic when Steve took the time to surprise his bride with a serenade down the aisle  by world-renown classical guitarist Michael Lucarelli. The happy couple and guests were able to enjoy Michael’s music throughout the reception that evening. Michael is truly an amazing and talented artist who brought so much elegance and class to Monique & Steve’s special day. He comes with The Castle’s seal of approval for your next event! Together let us make your event a memorable one for years to come.

Jewel Tone & Berry Combos are Making a Splash this Fall

Jewel Tones:

The new black tie is bold and bright thanks to jewel tone combos that energize your event.

Let your bridesmaids stand boldly at the alter with you in a deep blue gown – a great alternative to black. Or spice up the men with a stunning jade colored tie. If you’re nervous about the color intensity, offset the bold colors with buttery toned blooms. Calla Lillies are a perfect finish to your weddings bright color palette.

The options are endless – try adding touches of Sapphire and Emerald to your special day!

Berry Combos:

Plum and Berry tones are ripe for the picking this fall, this juicy color combo is sure to infuse your event with rich radiance.

Instead of opting for the same little black dress, try an exciting fuchsia minidress to let everyone know exactly who you are on rehearsal night. Or instead of having the same old bouquet as the bride at the last wedding you attended, request a bouquet with peonies, sweet peas, and orchids to add a fun pop of color to your palette. And don’t forget your flower girl – she will surely shine in a plummy organza dress with a touch of eggplant along the hem. Let your berry inspired dreams take you far!

For even more jewel tone & berry combo ideas, check out the October 2009 edition of Brides magazine. Their section on “brides color school” will definitely teach you a thing or two!
